John you are never to old to learn. Anyone can learn to do it, Check out the things Steveo said. Steveo is a VERY wise and smart man who knows what he’s talking about. Dear John, Stevo here from Germany. It is never to late to learn ventriloquism. In fact, in our vent courses for beginners here in Germany we had quite a few “newbies” at age 70+. At the ConVENTion, however, you are welcome regardless of your own level of expertise. You don´t have to qualify, just join the fun. How to learn? There are proven and tested tools available through the internet, there is the International Ventriloquist Society, a worldwide community offering support and sharing experiences, so go for it, it will be fun!
